God always comes first

It's a lesson I've learned the hard way, but one that has brought immense peace into my life: stop making what people do for you bigger than what God does for you. I remember countless times feeling let down, heartbroken even, when friends or family couldn't, or wouldn't, be there for me in the way I expected. We put so much hope into human connections, and while those connections are valuable, they're also inherently limited. People have their own struggles, their own capacities, and sometimes, despite their best intentions, they simply can't meet every need. Unlike human help, His never runs out, never falters, and is never conditional. It's a grace that completely overshadows any human action. For me, understanding that God always comes first wasn't just a spiritual concept; it became a practical guide for daily living. It meant shifting my focus from what I could gain from others to what I already had in Him. When I faced a difficult situation, instead of panicking or solely relying on a human solution, I learned to pause, pray, and trust that God was already at work. And time and time again, I saw His hand. Sometimes it was a sudden breakthrough, other times it was the strength to endure, or even just a profound sense of peace in the midst of chaos. This isn't to say that human relationships aren't important; they absolutely are. But recognizing that God is the ultimate source of all good things changes everything. It frees us from the burden of expecting perfection from imperfect people. It allows us to appreciate the help we receive from others as a blessing, without making it our sole foundation. Every breath I take, every opportunity that has come my way, every battle I didn't even realize was being fought for me – I've come to see it all as divine intervention. Putting God first can look different for everyone, but for me, it involves starting my day with gratitude, seeking His guidance in decisions, and continually reminding myself of His faithfulness. It means surrendering my anxieties and trusting in His timing, even when it's hard. It's about letting go of the need to control every outcome and instead resting in His sovereign plan. This journey has transformed my perspective, helping me navigate disappointments with resilience and celebrate blessings with a deeper sense of appreciation. It's a powerful reminder that while people may disappoint, God's grace will always prevail, offering an unwavering foundation for life.
