From my personal experience, the key is not to quit cold turkey but to manage your blood sugar levels carefully while gradually reducing sugar intake. I found that stabilizing blood sugar by including protein, healthy fats, and fiber in every meal really helped curb my sugar cravings. Starting the day with a savory breakfast like eggs and vegetables instead of something sweet made a big difference. Avoiding refined carbs and sugars alone kept my glucose levels from spiking and crashing, which often triggers intense cravings. Also, taking a phased approach worked wonders. In the first week, I cut out obvious sugars like sodas and desserts. The second week focused on hidden sugars found in sauces and processed foods. By the third week, I limited fruit intake to low-sugar options such as berries. This steady reduction prevented withdrawal symptoms and helped my body adjust without feeling deprived. When cravings hit, I used practical substitutes like drinking water or black coffee, snacking on nuts or boiled eggs, and even brushing my teeth quickly to break the craving cycle. Interestingly, improving sleep quality by aiming for 6-8 hours at night drastically reduced my evening sugar urges, possibly by balancing hunger hormones. Another important tip is to remove temptations from your environment. Keeping sweets out of sight and replacing them with healthy snacks such as nuts, yogurt, or a small portion of dark chocolate (85% cocoa or higher) minimized impulsive eating. Expect a short adjustment phase of 3 to 7 days where cravings may be strong, but this naturally subsides as your brain's reward system recalibrates. After about two weeks, sugar no longer feels like a necessity. Finally, if a sweetener is needed, opt for natural alternatives like stevia or monk fruit, which don’t spike blood sugar. However, be cautious of artificial sweeteners as they can prolong cravings. This experience taught me that controlling cravings comes from managing biology, not just discipline. By focusing on stable blood sugar and eliminating triggers gradually, the sugar addiction cycle breaks down, paving the way for sustained healthy habits and fat loss.

What is Within My Control
There are so many things we try to control, even when they’re completely outside our hands and it’s frustrating because we want hope for things to go our way. But the truth is, we can only control what’s within our own actions, choices, and responses. Learning to accept that isn’t easy. S

LET THINGS FALL APART
Let things fall apart. Stop trying to control the outcome. After some deep reflection, I realised that a lot of my anxiety comes from a deep fear that things will turn out badly. I tense up, trying to force a happy ending. But I start telling myself it's okay if things do fall apart.
