traveling with motion sickness

ive traveled quite a lot(especially when i was in band) and have really bad motion sickness so heres whats been helping me during the rides

-dramamine💊: i take 2 about an hour before the ride and then take the same dose as needed throughout the trip.

- having a trip “buddy” 🧸: having something soft and comfortable on my lap like a stuffed animal (mines a buc-ees plush) it helps especially if you’re used to having something in your lap at home like i do

-beaded bracelets/fidget bracelets📿: something you can roll/spin on your wrists really helps especially if your doing on a point on your wrist

-pacing yourself when eating🥣 : this a really big one for me eating something before you start you trip and having snacks is ideal for a trip especially long ones because you dont know when you’re gonna stop again for food

hope this helped a little i know everyones motion sickness is different:)

One common approach is to prepare in advance by consulting with a healthcare provider about medication options like Dramamine, which can be taken before and during travel to minimize nausea. Moreover, creating a comfortable travel environment is essential. Using familiar comfort items such as a favorite stuffed animal can provide psychological comfort, particularly for those who often travel with distractions. Additionally, engaging in fidgeting activities, like using beaded bracelets, can help keep your mind occupied during the ride, lessening the focus on feelings of nausea. Food intake is also crucial; it is advisable to eat lightly before starting your journey and to keep some snacks handy. Elements such as ginger ale or crackers can serve as good options due to their potential to settle the stomach. Staying hydrated and avoiding heavy or greasy meals right before the trip can further enhance your comfort. Lastly, allow yourself to rest and take breaks when needed. If you are driving, frequent stops can help refresh both you and your passengers, while passengers can benefit from getting fresh air. Each traveler may have different triggers; hence, identifying your personal comfort strategies will make traveling more enjoyable, transforming potential trips filled with discomfort into pleasant experiences.
