Sunday Study Day!

Finals season is in full swing at Ohio State, and my study days are packed with coffee runs, library sessions, and class notes! ☕️ 📚 With just a few weeks until winter break, I’m pushing through and staying motivated. ❄️ What’s keeping you going as the semester ends? Any exciting plans for the holidays? #lemon8partner #lemon8college #college #studywithme #dayinmylife

... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! ✨ You saw a glimpse into my Sunday study day during finals, but I wanted to dive deeper into how I actually make these intense study sessions productive and, dare I say, even enjoyable. Finals season can be grueling, but with a few strategies, you can totally crush it and still have energy for winter break plans! My Ultimate Sunday Study Routine for Peak Productivity My Sunday study days usually kick off bright and early. After a solid breakfast, I map out my entire day – not just study tasks, but also mini-breaks. I swear by the Pomodoro Technique: 25 minutes of focused work, 5-minute break. This keeps my brain from getting overwhelmed. I tackle my hardest subjects first when my mind is freshest. For example, I'll hit up my toughest economics chapter, then switch to something a bit lighter like summarizing notes for a history class. It's all about breaking it down! I also try to get a quick walk in during one of my longer breaks; fresh air truly makes a difference in boosting focus. This structured approach helps ensure every "college diml" study session is efficient. How I Actually "Romanticize" My School Life (Even During Finals!) The idea of romanticizing school might sound a bit… much, especially when you're drowning in textbooks. But trust me, small touches make a HUGE difference. First, I create a cozy study nook. This means good lighting (natural if possible!), a comfy chair, and a decluttered desk. My current favorite study essentials include a scented candle (nothing too distracting, maybe a subtle vanilla or lavender), a big water bottle, and a thermos of my favorite herbal tea. Instead of just chugging coffee, I make an event out of my study breaks – a perfectly brewed cup of tea or a healthy, delicious snack. I also curate specific playlists for different study moods – instrumental for deep focus, lo-fi for background hum. Finding these little joys makes the entire "day in my life" experience so much more bearable. Making a Study Plan During the Holidays: My Survival Guide With winter break just around the corner, balancing finals prep with holiday excitement is a real challenge. My trick is to plan everything in advance. Before the break officially starts, I sit down and outline what I absolutely must get done. This includes any lingering assignments, final exam review, and even a little bit of pre-reading for next semester if I'm feeling ambitious. I also block out specific "no-study" times for holiday gatherings or just relaxing. It's crucial to set boundaries. If I know I have a family dinner on Tuesday, I make sure my study goals for Monday and Wednesday are achievable. This way, I can enjoy festive moments without guilt and still feel prepared for anything academic coming up. Winding Down: Saying "Goodnight" to a Productive Day After a long, productive day filled with studying, it's so important to properly wind down. I used to just crash, but I found that made me feel more exhausted the next day. Now, about an hour before I plan to say "goodnight," I put away all my textbooks and laptop. I'll do something completely unrelated to academics – maybe read a chapter of a fiction book, listen to a podcast, or do some light stretching. Sometimes, I even jot down a quick to-do list for the next day, so my mind isn't racing with tasks as I try to fall asleep. A warm shower helps too! Getting good quality sleep is non-negotiable for another productive "college diml."
