Is Albany worth visiting? ✈️

Located only 2.5 hours away from Manhattan is where you'll find the capital of New York. Albany is an older city that is 400+ years old with a bunch of museums, history, new restaurants, cafes, etc. I visited as I was going on a longer drive up to Tupper Lake, and thought that it was a great middle ground.

Personally, I think that Albany is a great day trip location. It's also a great middle ground to stay in if you're going skiing or snowboarding during the Winter, as it probably has the most amount of bars in a smaller city in Upstate New York.

I live in the area and I love it. You do need to be careful depending on the area but in my opinion there’s more good than bad here.

Albany is the armpit of NYS. There's nothing worth staying more than 2 hours for. Go down the wrong street, and you're now in a demilitarized zone. The "gangs" are ridiculous, usually handle their beef by jumping each other at the mall during the winter. In the summer they just shoot each other. Architecturally.. 👍
