Sometimes, life takes away certain comforts and possessions we have cherished, not to punish us but to help us grow deeper in faith and spiritual maturity. From my own experience, these moments of loss or disappointment can initially feel painful and confusing. However, when I embraced the idea that God’s trials are meant to refine our character—as precious metal is purified by fire—I found a new sense of peace and understanding. This process involves letting go of reliance on material things and superficial comforts. Instead, it invites us to focus on inner growth and spiritual strength. For example, during times when I felt disappointed or isolated, I turned to prayer and scripture, especially verses like Job 23:10: “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” This verse reminded me that struggles have a purpose and are part of God’s plan to help us mature. Incorporating daily morning reflections or “早安心語” (morning words of peace) can be a powerful practice. It helps set a positive and faithful tone for the day, encouraging mindfulness of God’s presence and guidance. Sharing thoughts within the Christian community, whether through songs, sermons, or personal testimonies, strengthens our collective growth and encourages perseverance. Ultimately, spiritual growth is a journey that involves trusting God even when His methods seem mysterious. By accepting that some things must be taken away, we create space for renewed blessings and a deeper connection with Him. This mindset shift has enriched my daily Christian walk, helping me embrace challenges with hope and faith rather than fear or frustration.
