The Fenty Beauty has finally arrived ✨

Brianna announced the birth of little Rocki Irish Meyer on Instagram, and fans everywhere are celebrating with her.

When I saw the news, I was ecstatic. My Bajan bad gal has spent YEARS building $1 billion Empire in her family’s name - of course she should have a daughter to inherit it one day!

But then I saw the full name … and honestly, it reminded me of a trend I just can’t wrap my head around.

Why do so many powerful women (Rihanna, Kourtney, Kardashian, and more) give their babies the last names of their less famous boyfriends or partners? It feels like such a missed opportunity to carry on the legacies they’ve built.

I just can’t help, but wonder… Why?

Why are women still giving their kids their boyfriend’s last names, and not even hyphenating them with their maiden names or using their maiden names as the children’s name to have some kind of name linking them together?

You really carried a child around for nine months and pushed it out to not even share a name with it?

It’s a concept that I truly can’t grasp.

Rocki Irish Fenty-Meyer or even Rocki Fenty Meyer would’ve been so powerful.

Would a man ever give up his last name this easily?
