Had the best time at my recent pop-up! ✨

Running a small business and doing markets has taught me so much-what works, what doesn’t, and all the little things in between.

💬 Curious about how to prep for a market or what to bring? Ask me anything!

I’m happy to share some of my favorite tips + tricks that have helped me along the way.

And just a reminder, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

Some of the best pop-ups are the fast, last-minute ones where you just show up, set up, and go with the flow. 💨✨

... Read moreParticipating in pop-up markets provides a unique opportunity for small business owners to connect directly with customers, build brand awareness, and test new products or ideas in a real-world setting. Preparing effectively can make the difference between a stressful day and an enjoyable, profitable experience. When planning for a pop-up market, prioritizing organization and simplicity often leads to better success. Essential supplies to bring include a sturdy table or display stand, sufficient product inventory, signage that clearly identifies your brand and pricing, and point-of-sale tools such as a mobile card reader or cash box. Incorporating comfortable seating and weather-appropriate gear (tents, umbrellas) ensures both seller and attendee comfort. Flexibility is a key factor highlighted by many experienced pop-up vendors. Quick, last-minute pop-ups where you show up and adapt on the fly can still be highly effective. This approach reduces stress and encourages spontaneity, often resulting in authentic customer engagement and impulse sales. Marketing your presence at the pop-up before the event is equally important. Utilizing social media channels like Instagram, Facebook, and local community groups can help generate buzz and attract a crowd. Engaging with hashtags related to local markets, such as #PopUpMarket, #SmallBusinessTips, and location-specific tags like #California, enhances discoverability. Beyond logistics, pop-up markets provide invaluable experiential learning. Vendors gain firsthand knowledge of customer preferences, pricing dynamics, and product appeal. This insight allows for continuous improvement of offerings and customer service techniques. In summary, succeeding at pop-up markets involves thoughtful preparation, flexibility, and active community engagement. Embracing the imperfect and spontaneous nature of these events often leads to rewarding experiences and business growth opportunities.

This book had me on the EDGE of my seat!! Darcy Coates does a wonderful job of combining different aspects of literature, breaking it up into digestible pieces, while also weaving a wonderful web of a story. I won’t explain too much, and despite how thick it is I was done reading it in one sitting!
