Reviews of recent reads 📚🩷

Some reviews of my recent reads:

Love & Other Killers by Brynne Weaver- 5⭐️ This is going to sound insane and maybe a little pathetic, but oh my god I missed these characters 😭😭🩷 this felt like the perfect little way to greet an old friend. A knowing nod from the woods, if you will. I will miss the Kanes until we meet again 🥲🩷📚

Quicksilver by Callie Hart- 4⭐️ I had a great time with this book, but lowkey hated the ending 😶 overall though, pretty solid!

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden- 3.5⭐️ This book was okay, but it didn’t pick up until after halfway through… and I just kept thinking “how is this worthy of a whole movie” 🫣😶

But like I said, it was okay. The twist was predictable, but it was still fun!

Have you read any of these?? Did you like them?

... Read moreIf you’re a fan of gripping narratives and character-driven stories, Brynne Weaver’s 'Love & Other Killers' is a remarkable choice. Known as an Amazon Original Story and penned by a New York Times bestselling author, this book resonates deeply with readers who connect emotionally with complex characters and immersive storytelling. Its unique setting and compelling Kane family dynamics offer a heartfelt experience that book lovers often describe as reuniting with old friends. Callie Hart, another New York Times bestselling author, delivers an intense and engaging plot in 'Quicksilver.' Although the ending might not satisfy all readers, the journey is often praised for its strong pacing and emotional depth. Hart’s approach to romantic suspense keeps readers on edge, blending passion and tension seamlessly. 'From Behind Closed Doors, She Sees Everything' is a perfect teaser for Freida McFadden’s 'The Housemaid,' a New York Times bestseller that dives into domestic thrillers. While some readers find the story slow to develop initially, the twisty plot and psychological suspense become more thrilling after the midpoint, making it a fun if somewhat predictable read. Its adaptation into a movie underscores the storyline’s strong visual and emotional impact. For those looking to expand their bookshelves with popular titles, these three offer a mix of emotional resonance, suspense, and thriller elements. Each author’s reputation as a bestseller highlights their ability to engage readers and craft stories that stick with you long after finishing the last page. Joining reading communities like #lemon8bookclub or following tags such as #bookrecommendations and #BookReview can enhance your reading experience by connecting you with fellow readers who share insights and personal takes on these titles. Whether you're into mysteries, thrillers, or romantic suspense, these recent reads provide something for every avid reader seeking new favorites.

I have read The Housemaid and I agree it didn’t pick up until half-way through the book & it was very predictable but it was an okay read. 3⭐️ for me. Quicksilver is in my tbr list and I’ve noticed there have been mixed reviews on this book so I’ve held off reading it first, but I do plan on reading eventually. 😀 Thank you for posting your reviews & your 5⭐️ book looks interesting. 🧐 I might just have to check it out. 🥰
