Using a dumbbell with a bench was a great alternative that allowed me to focus on proper form and really engage my glutes. If you have shorter legs, elevating your feet on a small platform helped me get a better range of motion. Tracking my progress with before and after photos motivated me tremendously—glute growth and strength increases became visible within a few weeks. Don’t rush; gradually increase your weight and reps as you get stronger. Remember, consistent practice with proper technique is key. Also, experimenting with different variations, like adding pauses or pulses at the top of the movement, added variety and helped target the muscles more effectively. For anyone starting out, I recommend focusing first on mastering form to prevent injury and build a solid foundation before moving to heavier weights or advanced workouts.
