One of the least visited National Parks in the US…

#lemon8diarychallenge Dry Tortugas is a small island fort off of the Florida keys, and one of the least visited National parks in the United States. One of the leading reasons it isn’t visited by many, is the fact that the only way there is by boat or sea plane. It may be unpopular, but for me the history and snorkeling will be something I’ll always remember :)

... Read moreNestled in the Gulf of Mexico, Dry Tortugas National Park is a stunning yet remote destination known for its crystal-clear waters and rich history. This lesser-known park comprises seven islands and is primarily accessible via ferry or seaplane, which significantly contributes to its lower visitation rate. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling at the diverse coral reefs teeming with marine life, exploring the historic Fort Jefferson built in the 19th century, and basking in the tranquility of the surroundings. Though it is not frequently visited compared to other national parks, the serenity and beauty of Dry Tortugas make it an ideal spot for those seeking a unique getaway. Ideal for history buffs and nature enthusiasts alike, this park offers guided tours that delve into its fascinating past while providing opportunities to spot sea turtles and other wildlife. Experience the allure of one of Florida’s best-kept secrets and make unforgettable memories at this hidden treasure of the national park system.
