Notebook & Planning Ecosystem ✨
I’m very much a list writer and over planner so you’ll never find a shortage of notebooks in my house. I’ve finally narrowed down my main set to the ones photographed and I’m excited to share what each one’s purpose is.
- Commonplace book: See my recent post about my system; I use this for the most important facts and knowledge I come across to catalogue it all for future reference. It also helps me retain information when I write it down so it sticks in my brain.
- Journal: For personal journal/diary entries, I date them and it’s basically just a big emotional pour lol
- Daily Ideas: I take my floral notebook with me everywhere and use it for note taking and ideas that pop into my head. I create grocery lists, mini budget plans, and other random daily stuff in there.
- Creative Planner: This is just a big notebook, but I strictly keep all of my content and creative project related notes and plans in this one so they’re easy to find again. I create posting schedules, content ideas, creative project organizers, and more in this one.
- Daily/Monthly Planner: This dated planner also travels with me everywhere and I’ve also created a post about my foolproof planning method. I plan the basics of my days from my workout to my meal plan, and use the monthly calendar to plan events and birthdays.
It may seem like a lot, but this cute little stack sits under my coffee table an arms length away besides the two that travel in my work bag. Having a purpose for each one helps me organize my thoughts and have ease of access when referencing things later.

In today's fast-paced world, an effective planning system can significantly enhance productivity and creativity. Notebooks play a crucial role in organizing our thoughts and tasks. A commonplace book, for instance, serves as a treasure trove of insights, allowing you to catalogue essential facts and knowledge that can be referenced later. This practice not only reinforces learning but also fosters a habit of reflection, aiding in the retention of information. Your journal, on the other hand, acts as a personal sanctuary for emotional expression. It's a place where thoughts and feelings can flow freely, providing therapeutic benefits while chronicling your journey. This reflects the importance of emotional wellness in our planning processes. Daily ideas notebooks are perfect for those spontaneous moments of inspiration. Carrying a floral notebook or any preferred design wherever you go encourages you to jot down grocery lists, brainstorm ideas, or sketch out project outlines. The convenience of having a go-to place for such notes helps mitigate forgetfulness and promotes creativity. Creative planners hold the potential to transform your content creation journey. By organizing content ideas, scheduling posts, and managing creative projects in one dedicated notebook, you can streamline your workflow and maintain clarity on your goals. This enhances both productivity and focus, essential in an age of information overload. Lastly, the daily/monthly planner equips you with a comprehensive overview of your responsibilities. By integrating meal planning, workout schedules, and significant dates into one structured system, you alleviate the hassle of juggling various digital calendars. Embrace the aesthetics of planning that best resonate with you, and find joy in both functionality and artfulness. In the ever-evolving notebook ecosystem, how do you manage your ideas and tasks? Do you prefer traditional notebooks or digital alternatives? Sharing these insights can cultivate a thriving community of planners, each finding their unique method of organization.
