I've said it once, twice, a zillion times - I started all of my book social media accounts with the intent of trying to get free books from publishers. I read A LOT (like 120 books per year) a lot... and I do NOT have the budget or lifestyle to allow for buying 120 books per year.
In 2020, I began my accounts as "portfolios" to show publishers what I can do, so they'd want to work with me! Now 4 years later, I found a lot of other perks along the way - BOOK FRIENDS - and have more books than I can probably read in my lifetime.
I want to always pay it forward to those starting out, not sure where to begin, or confused with the details. As someone who has a social media, marketing, public relations background - I definitely had the resources of knowing how to pitch myself, what companies look for in collaborations, etc. I hope this guide is a good jumping off point for you to work your way towards free books!
