Spring Activities for Kids

Is it just me, or did January feel like it was 800 years? We finally made it to February, and I can say my family can’t wait for the weather to get warmer so we can spend more of our time outdoors.

I live in NE Ohio where we usually have some brutal winters. So far this year, it’s been pretty mild and I’m praying it lasts that way through the rest of the season! Keep reading for some ideas of how you can spend your time with family once spring arrives.

SPEND EVENINGS OUTDOORS

As soon as the weather gets nicer I look forward to resetting and starting new. For my kids, this looks like getting outside to play and explore. We love spending our evenings in our backyard. We will eat dinner out there whenever the weather is nice, and soak in the fresh air.

GO TO PLAYGROUNDS

On weekends we usually go to a local playground at least once! My daughter loves to climb, and it’s a great chance for her to socialize with other kids while burning off energy. Pack a lunch and enjoy a meal outdoors at a picnic table if possible!

TRIPS TO THE FARMERS MARKET

The farmers market is another fun place to go because you can get outdoors while shopping for produce! Fresh strawberries are our absolute favorite, and grabbing fresh flowers for your home is a plus! I love buying items from local businesses that are sold at the farmers market as well. I’m introduced to so many quality, homemade products when I go.
