I stopped waiting for life to happen to me!

In 2019, I decided I was going to try and write my own book. I worked and worked and worked on it for MONTHS! Got some advice from a published author and edited and organized some more, and voila! I had written a poetry chapbook!

I was SO proud! And then I started the submission process and was rejected…repeatedly. If I’m being honest, I kind of gave up! COVID hit, I moved cities, got myself in and out of a situation that was not in my best interest. Life just kind of ran me over.

But last summer I made an effort to reconnect with the parts of myself that I really loved and officially decided to publish my book through Amazon, on my own. The process was so easy and straightforward, I didn’t have to pay to be told no (iykyk), and I wound up with a BEAUTIFUL copy of my own hard work that I could share with other people.

If you’re sitting on a project that’s been weighing you down for ages, my suggestion to you is to just go for it!! It will feel so good when it’s done!

And if you’ve ever had your heartbroken and had to find your way back to yourself, check out my poetry book on Amazon! The link is in my bio ☺️ Hope you love it!!

Self-publishing platforms like Amazon provide an accessible route for writers to share their stories and poetry with a global audience. The journey of writing and publishing can often feel daunting, filled with rejection and uncertainty. However, many authors are finding solace in the ability to take control of their publishing journeys, bypassing traditional gatekeepers. Self-publishing not only allows for creative freedom but also gives authors a chance to reach their target audience directly. Many writers start with a manuscript that has faced criticism or rejection, yet by choosing to self-publish, they gain the opportunity to present their unique voices to the world. This democratization of publishing has led to an explosion of variety in literature, where every voice can find its place, contributing to the rich tapestry of modern reading. For those sitting on unfinished projects or hesitant to share their work, the time is now to explore self-publishing. It offers an empowering chance to turn personal stories, experiences, and emotions into compelling narratives. So if you’ve ever dreamed of sharing your own creative work, don’t wait any longer. The self-publishing journey could lead you to unexpected rewards and connections within the literary community!
