GUESS THE GENDER🩷🩵
Baby Perrin is due in January 2025 & we are so excited!!! The father’s family are all convinced it will be a boy, with only a few thinking it will be a girl. However, my family thinks it will be a girl (with only one thinking it’s a boy). Daniel (the father) believes whole heartedly that it is a baby boy & has even been calling baby Perrin a boy any time he talks to it. I have not called it a boy or girl, but am convinced it is a girl because that’s what all of my dreams have been!
All of the old wives tales are split for me including the calendar predictions, so I have no idea!!
Other pregnancy symptoms:
*Very light morning sickness but MAJOR sickness after eating ANYTHING
*Mostly craving sweets but every now & then salty/spicy cravings are stronger
*Hair is SO fragile now (I had to cut most of it off because it started breaking out of no where)
*Constantly feeling like I’m on the verge of catching a cold
*Heat rashes
Some people tell me I’m carrying low and others high, what do you think?
Do you think we are having a baby boy or baby girl?
Leave name suggestions for either if you wish!!

It's always such an exciting time when you're pregnant and everyone starts playing the 'guess the gender' game! Just like Hayls, I remember being absolutely swept up in all the fun predictions, especially in those early weeks. While the ultrasound (and eventually birth!) gives the definitive answer, trying to decipher clues from your body and old traditions is a delightful part of the journey. Many of us pregnant mamas scour the internet for early boy or girl symptoms. While Hayls mentioned her mild morning sickness, major sickness after eating, and fragile hair, it's fascinating how varied experiences can be! For example, some say severe morning sickness points to a girl, but I had very little sickness with my first, who was a boy. And those cravings – are you team sweet like Hayls, or do you swing salty and spicy? The old saying goes, 'sugar and spice and everything nice for a girl, or meat and potatoes for a boy!' What about your skin and hair? Some find their skin breaks out, others get a 'pregnancy glow,' and changes like Hayls' fragile hair are also common. I've heard some say thicker hair means a boy, and acne means a girl, but it truly varies so much from person to person. Then there are the classic old wives' tales, which are always so much fun to consider, even if they often give split results just like the chart Hayls shared! The 'carrying high or low' debate (as seen in the image text) is a big one. They say carrying high means a girl, and low means a boy. With my first, I carried incredibly low, and it was indeed a boy! With my second, I carried higher, and she was a girl. But I've known plenty of moms whose experience was the complete opposite! Another popular tale involves the baby's heart rate from ultrasounds. Many believe a heart rate consistently in the 160s (like the one mentioned in Hayls' ultrasound pic) or higher indicates a girl, while lower rates suggest a boy. Again, it’s mostly just for fun, but it adds to the suspense! Beyond these traditional methods, I've seen a lot of buzz about newer ways to guess. Many curious parents look into 'Clear Blue gender tests' or explore various 'baby gender apps' that claim high accuracy. Some even try to 'guess my gender from a photo' by analyzing belly shape or the 'pregnancy glow' on a mom's face. While these can be interesting to try, I personally found the most joy in waiting for my anatomy scan. It made the eventual 'gender reveal' so much more special, whether it was an 'intimate gender reveal idea' with just family or a small gathering with friends. And of course, once the gender speculation starts, the 'baby name suggestions' pour in! It's never too early to start thinking about those perfect names for your little one, whether it's a boy or a girl.
