Romans

... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 If you've been looking to dive deeper into the Bible, especially the book of Romans, you're in for a treat. Romans is truly a foundational book for understanding our faith, and honestly, it changed my perspective on so many things. It's packed with profound truths about God's righteousness, humanity's need for a Savior, and the incredible gift of grace. I've found that one of the most effective ways to truly grasp the richness of God's Word is through active study – not just reading, but engaging with it. That's why I love keeping an open Bible with plenty of space for my handwritten notes and highlights. It's become my personal conversation with the text, letting me really dig into what God is speaking to me. You might have seen glimpses of my Romans chapters 5 and 6 study pages, full of colors and thoughts! Let me share a bit about what these chapters, along with 10 and 12, have meant to me. Romans Chapter 5: This chapter is such a comfort. It beautifully explains how we've been justified by faith and now have peace with God through Jesus Christ. For me, the standout truth here is about Jesus' blood saving from wrath. It’s a powerful reminder that because of His sacrifice, we are no longer under condemnation. It’s not about what I *do*, but what He *did*. This truth alone brings such freedom and peace to my heart. I love highlighting verses that remind me of this incredible security we have in Christ. Romans Chapter 6: Oh, Chapter 6! This is where the rubber meets the road for living out our faith. It addresses the question, "Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?" And Paul's resounding 'By no means!' is such a call to action. This chapter has really helped me understand what it means to be dead to sin and alive to God. It’s all about breaking chains of sin and truly embracing a new life in Christ. I often use different colored highlighters here – one color for the old self, and another for the new creation we are becoming. It's a journey, and Romans 6 is my guide for walking in that freedom. The concept of being 'united with him in a death like his' and 'united with him in a resurrection like his' is something I constantly meditate on. While Chapters 5 and 6 lay a firm foundation on salvation and new life, Chapters 10 and 12 build on that by showing us how to live it out. Romans Chapter 10: This chapter really emphasizes the simplicity and availability of salvation through faith. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." It’s a powerful reminder that God wants everyone to know Him. For me, it ignites a passion for sharing this good news, knowing that faith comes from hearing the message about Christ. Romans Chapter 12: Ah, the practical living chapter! This is where Paul tells us to "present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God." It's not just about what we believe, but how we live. It speaks to transforming our minds, discovering our spiritual gifts, and living in love and humility within the community of believers. I often highlight the verses about not conforming to the pattern of this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds. It's a daily challenge, but so rewarding. If you're starting your own Romans study, I highly recommend getting a wide-margin Bible or a separate notebook. Use different pens for different insights – maybe one for theological points, another for personal applications, and a third for prayer points. Don't be afraid to make it messy and personal! It's your journey with God's Word. Focus on the incredible grace woven throughout, and how it empowers you to live that new life in Christ. Happy studying!

Romans 6 | “Dead to Sin, Alive to God” ✨✝️
- Romans 6 teaches that when we trust Jesus, we’re united with Him in His death—and that sin no longer gets the final say. 🪦 - “Dead to sin” doesn’t mean we’ll never struggle; it means we don’t have to obey sin anymore. 🔒 - Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we can live with a new identity:
