Servings: 2 Loaves

150g Sourdough starter

300g Filtered water

500g Bread flour

5-10g Himalayan salt

This being my very first loaf I think it turned out pretty good! The taste was good def not the most sour it could be for me personally but that will come in time as my starter ages! It twas a bit flat but I just think I didn’t add enough starter i had only put 100g so now it kinda looks like ciabatta lol but I still enjoyed making it!

Mixing the right proportions of flour, water, and salt is essential. Always use filtered water to avoid chemicals that can affect the yeast activity. Don’t rush the fermentation process! The longer you allow the dough to rise, the more complex the flavors will develop. Stretching and folding the dough every 30 minutes during bulk fermentation helps develop gluten, ensuring a better texture in the final bake. Once your dough has risen adequately, it’s time for shaping. Pay close attention to create surface tension, which contributes to a better rise in the oven. Make sure to use parchment paper for easy transferring to the oven. Bake with steam by covering the bread for the first half of the baking time to create that desirable crust. Lastly, for optimal taste and texture, let the bread cool completely before slicing. This allows the internal moisture to evenly distribute, making your sourdough even more delicious!
