Compassion asks us to remember humanity
Some of the greatest lessons I learned in nursing had nothing to do with medications, procedures, or diagnoses.
They came from sitting beside people on the hardest days of their lives.
When you've held someone's hand through fear... celebrated small victories... witnessed unimaginable loss... or simply listened without judgment, you begin to realize that no one can be summarized by their worst moment.
Every person carries a story you cannot see.
Compassion doesn't ask us to ignore accountability. It asks us to remember humanity.
I think the world could use a little more of that. 💙
