Homemade Brown Sugar Cookies
My first batch of homemade cookies EVER called for using YOUR brown butter. UHHH I only know of yellow butter, but I learned it’s just melting a stick of butter until it turns brown. Baking is hard. 😂
Browning butter is a crucial step in enhancing the flavor of your cookies. To achieve this, melt the stick of yellow butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns a rich brown color. This process caramelizes the milk solids, adding a nutty depth to your cookies. Additionally, using brown sugar instead of white sugar not only adds moisture but also gives that classic chewy texture and rich flavor. For a fun twist, consider adding chocolate chips or nuts to your cookie dough, or even a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a delicious sweet-and-salty combination. Remember, the key to perfect cookies lies in not over-mixing the dough and letting it chill for at least 30 minutes before baking, which helps to intensify the flavors and achieve a nicer texture. These homemade brown sugar cookies will surely impress family and friends, making them a perfect addition to any gathering or snack time!
