... Read moreAs a first-year teacher managing a kindergarten classroom, I've found that the right snacks can make a world of difference during those hectic last days of the school year. When kids are restless and energy levels dip, offering simple, healthy snacks not only keeps them fueled but also helps maintain their focus and mood. For us, having a rotation of quick snacks worked wonders across the days of the week, from Monday to Thursday. One tip I learned is to keep snacks easy to distribute and mess-free—think fruits like sliced apples or grapes, whole grain crackers, or small cheese portions. These are favorites among young kids and can be served quickly without much preparation. Incorporating snacks with bright colors or interesting shapes can also spark excitement and encourage kids to eat them eagerly. Another key is aligning snack time with classroom activities and transition periods. Right before outdoor recess or a creative session, a small snack can recharge their energies and improve participation. Being a first-year teacher in New Jersey, I noticed this strategy helped me manage the classroom more effectively during the final push to summer break. Having a flexible snack plan is also beneficial. Some days children may want a little more, other days less, depending on their appetite and activity level. Encouraging hydration alongside snacks using water or natural fruit juices keeps kids refreshed as well. Ultimately, snacks are more than just food; they are a tool to support learning, concentration, and social interaction. I’m grateful for the simple meals that helped us get through those last busy days of kindergarten, making the transition to summer break smoother for everyone involved.

#1 thing that helped me lose weight without trying
Over the past 3 months, I lost 7lbs without even trying (140 —> 133lbs). The only thing I changed was HOW I ate (not what I ate). I honestly didn’t even have the intention to lose weight but inevitably did when I started doing this one habit. SO BACKSTORY: I’ve always had a complicated relati
