CHRIST DID IT NOT ME!!! MATTHEW 18

I thank God for His patience with His Offspring, amongst the people God Loves!!! I look to the extent of knowing I did all I could, and God saved me from holding on to anger!!! I get overwhelmed by the Spirit that saves me, God placed in me the fact that I do not stay upset at people!!! I never knew it was a part of who I am until my then man friend and now husband told me, my brother had told him if he ever get me to talk to him I wouldn't be mad at him anymore!!! My grandson figured it out when he was very young, asking the most unrelated question; once I answered, I was not upset with him anymore!!!

Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. 23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. 26 “At this, the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt, and let him go.

... Read moreIn Matthew 18, Jesus emphasizes the importance of forgiveness through the parable of the unmerciful servant. This parable illustrates how we should extend mercy to others as God has shown us mercy. Understanding forgiveness involves recognizing our own flaws and the grace we have received. As Jesus teaches, forgiving others not only aids our spiritual growth but also fosters healthier relationships. When we forgive, we release ourselves from the chains of bitterness and anger that can consume us. Observing the actions of the master in the parable, we see that he first forgives an immense debt, showcasing the boundless mercy of God. However, when the forgiven servant fails to show similar compassion to a fellow servant, he faces severe consequences. This story illustrates that our capacity to forgive reflects our understanding of the grace we have received. Therefore, forgiveness is not just a duty but a path to spiritual freedom. By embracing the teachings of Matthew 18, we can cultivate a heart of compassion and kindness, enabling us to forgive those who wrong us, much as we have been forgiven.
