Helper’s diary

... Read moreAs someone working as a helper in Singapore, I’ve realized that what we eat every day plays a big role in our energy and mood. My daily meals are usually simple, often homemade dishes that remind me of home or offer a quick boost of nutrition. On most days, I prefer meals that are easy to prepare but nourishing, like rice with vegetables, sometimes accompanied by eggs or chicken. Since my work is quite physically demanding, these meals provide the energy I need to stay focused and efficient. I also like to share food with my fellow helpers during our breaks—it helps create a sense of community and makes the day less tiring. Sometimes, we exchange cooking tips or new recipes to bring variety to our meals. What works best for me is planning and preparing small portions of food in advance. This ensures I have something ready to eat whenever I have a moment to rest. Having nutritious and satisfying meals doesn't just help with work; it also keeps my spirits high. For anyone living or working away from home, paying attention to what you eat can make a real difference. It’s not just about eating to fill the stomach—it’s about nurturing your body and finding little pleasures in daily routines like meals that remind you of comfort and care.
