🔥 Still stretching that “tight hip flexor”?

Do you honestly think that stretch is helping your hip pain?

It’s probably not, and it might even be making it worse.

Most people feel that pinch in the front of the hip and assume it’s tightness…

but the real problem usually isn’t the hip flexor at all.

It’s your glute not firing.

When your glute stops doing its job, your hip slides forward, creating that pinching pain and tension you keep trying to stretch away.

The fix?

Activate the glutes... not stretch the hip. 🍑

Get the hip back in position so it can actually function the way it’s meant to.

Start with this:

✅ Drive your knee and foot into the ground

✅ Lift and hold for 3 seconds

✅ Squeeze your glutes hard

✅ Repeat until you’re tired

This one move takes pressure off the front of your hip and gets your body working with you again.

... Read moreMany people experiencing hip pain naturally assume that tight hip flexors are the culprit, leading them to focus on stretching that area. However, as the main article explains, the root cause often lies in the glute muscles not activating properly. When glutes fail to engage, the hip joint’s position changes, often sliding forward and causing that familiar pinching discomfort at the front of the hip. Proper glute activation helps re-align the hip joint, reducing excessive tension on the hip flexors. This shift not only alleviates current pain but also improves overall hip mobility and stability. For those struggling with persistent hip pain, incorporating focused glute exercises—such as pressing the knee and foot into the ground while squeezing the glutes—can be transformative. Beyond the recommended exercise, it's important to understand the balance between mobility and strength around the hip complex. Incorporating dynamic hip mobility drills and strengthening surrounding muscles—like the hamstrings and core—can complement glute activation for a well-rounded approach to hip health. Additionally, individuals should be mindful of their daily posture and habits. Prolonged sitting can weaken glute engagement and exacerbate hip pain. Standing or walking breaks, combined with gentle movement through the hip joint, can support proper muscle function. The OCR content of the images highlights key reminders such as "HOW TO PROPERLY DEAL WITH YOUR HIP PAIN" and hashtags like #getBETTERnotolder reinforcing the idea that effective management and gradual strengthening can significantly improve quality of life. Lifting the hip to a "top position" and repeating engagement exercises build endurance within the muscles, which is essential for sustained relief. Ultimately, the pathway to resolving hip pain involves retraining your body to use the appropriate muscles rather than relying solely on stretching the hip flexors. This preventative and corrective strategy not only soothes discomfort but promotes healthier movement patterns, allowing you to stay active without pain.
