Meet Athena!
Our newest addition to our pet herd, a silver (Dun) Highland calf.
I've always been fascinated by Highland cattle, especially their distinctive long hair and hardy nature. Athena, being a silver Dun Highland calf, stands out with her unique coat color that adds a stunning touch to our little farm. Raising Highland calves like Athena requires understanding their needs as they thrive in cooler climates, which makes Manitoba a perfect home for her. Beyond her physical charm, Highland cattle are known for their gentle temperament, making them wonderful companions on any farm. I’ve personally noticed that Athena is curious and social, which has made her integration into the existing herd quite seamless. Watching her explore the pasture and interact with others brings a real sense of connection to nature. If you're considering adding a Highland calf to your own farm, it’s important to ensure proper shelter, nutritious forage, and a calm environment to let them thrive. Athena’s arrival has reminded me of the satisfaction and happiness that comes with caring for these remarkable animals, and I’m excited to share more about her growth and our farm adventures in future updates.
