When a smartphone doesn't just have a screen, the Honor Robot Phone is going to have its own body and movement to change the way people do content.

Ahead of the launch of the MWC 2026 event in Barcelona, Honor shook the tech scene by presenting the Robot Phone, a new product category that changed its definition from just an AI-aided phone, to being an AI platform with its own body.

Back then, we often saw AI on screen to help process data, but this project was a continuation of Alpha Plan, where CEO James Li aimed to give the body and soul to technology, emphasizing physical engagement with users, collaborating with global partners to extend the limits of so-called smartphones a step further.

The most interesting point is to pack a tiny 3-axis gimball motor system into the unit, which Honor confirms is the smallest gimball motor ever made because it is even thinner than a euro coin. This mechanism allows the mobile's camera to rotate and move freely to automatically track objects through the AI Object Tracking system.

For Thai people who are passionate about content, whether it's shooting TikReels or making Vlogs, this can become a major turning point because the system allows the panner to follow ourselves like a personal cameraman without carrying a separate vibrating stick. There is also the pull of ARRI, a legendary movie camera brand, to develop tones and video quality, which is ARRI's first time in the general consumer mobile market.

However, looking objectively, innovations with moving parts inside the machine will raise the question of long-term durability. If the machine crashes or crashes, will the gimball system continue to perform as well as the expected high price of state-of-the-art, waiting to see the actual release in the second half of 2026, how much will it solve?

Finally, the key problem with AI in the next generation may not be just intelligent question-and-answer, but how electronic devices can move our bodies to help us in the real world.
