No, I didn’t break up with Nespresso..

I spotted something in the grocery store that genuinely made me pause. As a Nespresso coffee snob, I don’t usually reach for ready-to-use coffee products… but this one piqued my curiosity.

NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate is a super-concentrated liquid coffee made from 100% Arabica beans, and the serving size is just 2 tablespoons, delivering a nice ⚡️hit (120 mg)of caffeine, similar to a strong espresso drink.

Let’s be clear — I still love my Nespresso. But this caught my attention as a grab-and-go espresso base that works when you want something fast, iced, and low-effort without sacrificing bold coffee flavor.

So naturally… I iced it and added eggnog.

Taste notes

Creamy, nostalgic eggnog meets bold espresso — rich but balanced, festive without being heavy, and surprisingly smooth for a grocery-store concentrate.

... Read moreIf you're new to using espresso concentrate like NESCAFÉ's, it's super simple and versatile. Just measure 2 tablespoons—the perfect caffeine kick equivalent to a strong espresso shot—and add it directly to milk or your favorite alternative. It dissolves quickly without needing any brewing equipment, making it great for busy mornings or when you want a rich coffee experience on the go. One of my favorite ways to enjoy this concentrate is iced, especially when I mix it with seasonal ingredients like eggnog for a creamy, nostalgic treat. Just fill a glass with ice, pour in 4 oz of eggnog and 2 oz of milk, then add the espresso concentrate and stir until smooth. For an extra festive touch, a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg on top is a wonderful finishing touch. This concentrate isn’t just great for holiday drinks—it works well in a variety of recipes. You can add it to smoothies, bake it into coffee-flavored cakes, or even jazz up your morning oatmeal with a splash. Since it’s concentrated, a little goes a long way, and it’s shelf-stable, so keep some in your fridge for whenever coffee cravings hit. One tip I discovered is to keep the concentrate chilled. It pours better over ice and blends nicely without watering down the flavor. Also, experimenting with different milk alternatives like oat or almond milk can change the flavor profile in delightful ways. Overall, using espresso concentrate is a fantastic option for coffee lovers who want the authentic boldness of espresso without the fuss of machines. Give it a try in your favorite iced drinks this season!
