I started this piece last week after I looked out my window and a swallowtail butterfly was sitting on the tree across from me, it was so pretty and bright against the grey background, it was cloudy and dull outside. I knew immediately that I wanted to paint it, it felt like a sign that good things were coming! 🌿🌸

... Read morePainting this swallowtail butterfly was more than just an artistic project—it became a moment of mindfulness and reflection. Sometimes, when life feels overwhelming or cloudy, pausing to appreciate a small, beautiful scene in nature can remind us of positive changes ahead. The swallowtail butterfly, known for its vibrant colors and graceful flight, often symbolizes transformation and new beginnings in various cultures. In my experience, incorporating such meaningful subjects into art not only enriches the creative process but also adds an emotional connection to the piece. When I painted this butterfly against the grey backdrop, I wanted to convey the contrast between struggle and hope—how even in dull moments, bright possibilities emerge. For those interested in creating or collecting art, choosing motifs like butterflies can bring uplifting energy into your living space. Additionally, framing it in a vintage gold frame, as planned, adds a timeless elegance that enhances both the painting's colors and its symbolic significance. Watching the painting come to life slowly, stroke by stroke, reminded me to slow down and appreciate small details in everyday life. I encourage fellow artists and art lovers to find inspiration in the simple wonders around them—be it a butterfly, a flower, or a ray of sunlight—as these moments can bring unexpected joy and motivation to keep creating.
