The curse of Robert (review)

Title : the curse of Robert

Rating: ⭐️Overall rating: 7/10

Director: Andrew Jones

Genre: Supernatural/ Horror

Year of release: 2016

Where to watch: Tubi, YouTube, Plex, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube Tv, google play movies & tv, fandango at home.

Synopsis: Emily, a student desperate for money, works the night shift as a cleaner at a local museum. However, her life turns upside down when she experiences unexplainable paranormal phenomena every night.

Final thoughts: the second installment of the Robert the doll franchise I actually liked this one a lot more than the first one I did like that they made more use of Robert throughout the film and we get to revisit some characters from the original as well. the ending definitely wasn’t what I was expecting though I’m not mad at it. What did you guys think of this one and what’s your favorite horror movie?

... Read moreHaving watched The Curse of Robert, I can say the film does a commendable job of blending supernatural horror with elements inspired by a true haunted doll story. What intrigued me the most was how the movie didn’t just rely on jump scares but built a suspenseful atmosphere that intensified as Emily’s nightly experiences unfolded. From my perspective, the setting—a museum at night—adds an eerie layer of authenticity to the supernatural occurrences. I found the inclusion of Robert the Doll, a real-life haunted object with its own mysterious history, made the story more compelling and chilling. The film’s approach to revisiting characters from the original movie helped create a deeper connection for fans of the franchise, while also making it accessible for newcomers. One personal takeaway was the unique way the film portrayed the curse—not just as a simple haunting but as something with emotional weight for the protagonist. I appreciated that the ending surprised me in a good way, offering twists that lingered in my mind. For viewers who enjoy horror movies grounded in real legends, this installment is worth a watch. It reminded me of other supernatural tales involving cursed objects that continue to captivate audiences, such as Annabelle or the Conjuring series. Streaming availability across platforms like Tubi, Hulu, and Amazon Prime makes it easy to catch. Overall, The Curse of Robert is a solid addition to supernatural horror fans’ watchlists, especially those fascinated by haunted dolls and museum mysteries. The movie successfully combines folklore with modern storytelling, giving it an unsettling yet engaging vibe that stayed with me well after the credits rolled.
