That deception........

Your entire relationship with a narcissist is based on deception. From the very first moment, you were lied to and manipulated, pulled into a story that was never real. What you thought was love, connection, and shared dreams was nothing more than a carefully constructed illusion. They wore a mask designed to look like everything you had ever hoped for, but underneath, they were never that person. They mirrored your values, your desires, and your vulnerabilities — not because they truly shared them, but because pretending to made you easier to capture.

At the start, it feels intoxicating. They sweep you off your feet, making you believe you’ve finally found someone who sees you, understands you, and cherishes you. The love bombing feels like destiny, like a fairytale. But that fairytale is just bait. Once they feel secure in your devotion, the cracks begin to show. Their kindness turns conditional. Their affection becomes inconsistent. Their promises evaporate. You find yourself fighting to get back to the beginning, not realizing that the beginning was the biggest lie of all.

They don’t want what you want, no matter how convincingly they said they did. They don’t want stability, trust, or growth. What they want is control, admiration, and power. And in order to maintain that, they need you confused, unsteady, and doubting yourself. So they twist your reality, rewrite history, and plant seeds of doubt until you can no longer tell if you’re seeing things clearly or losing your mind.

By the time you realize what’s happening, you’re already deep inside their web. You wake up and find yourself in a world that feels unrecognizable — a world where you’ve become a person you don’t even know anymore. You’re walking on eggshells, constantly trying to manage their moods, blaming yourself for their cruelty, apologizing for things you didn’t even do. You’re living in their insane, imaginary, fake world, where their lies become the rules and your truth gets buried under their performance.

And the most devastating part? You realize the person you thought you loved never actually existed. The “soulmate” you believed in was an actor playing a role, a mask they wore to get what they wanted. The real person, the one behind the mask, was always there — manipulative, self-absorbed, incapable of real empathy — but hidden from you until you were too entangled to leave easily.

Escaping their grip takes courage. It means grieving not only the relationship but also the fantasy of who you thought they were. It means untangling yourself from the lies and learning how to trust your own mind again. It means reclaiming your voice, your boundaries, and your sense of self that was slowly eroded.

Because the truth is this: you were never broken, and you were never unworthy. You were simply deceived by someone who thrives on deception. And once you step out of their illusion, you begin to see clearly again. Healing takes time, but with every step forward, you move further away from their world and closer back to your own — a world where love is real, respect is mutual, and your identity is no longer defined by someone else’s manipulation.

If you focus too long on any word it suddenly becomes unrecognizable. like all records have been archived. to search for a new meaning

it's kind of a locust. there's water and then there's not. so the grass hoppers eat it and die. but they are still edible...

Some argue Robert Greene’s books are full of manipulation and deception, while others believe they provide invaluable insight into power dynamics and human behavior. For me, they're like a blueprint for understanding the psychological game of life—a guide through the ‘matrix.’ What do YOU think

Deception is a mask worn by fear
Deception may seem powerful in the moment, but it never lasts. Lies unravel, masks slip, and the truth always finds its way to the surface. What’s hidden in shadows cannot stand against the light forever. #HiddenTruths #BehindTheMask #DeceptionUnveiled #TruthAlwaysWins #SilentBe
