Perspective creates the narrative

You weren't hard to love. They were too broken to offer real love in return.

You gave them a version of love that was pure, consistent, and honest. You poured into them without hesitation, hoping they would one day meet you with the same depth. But love isn’t always about how much you give; sometimes it reveals how much the other person is truly capable of receiving. And in their case, they could not hold the love you offered, not because you lacked anything, but because they were carrying wounds they never faced, pain they never healed, and emptiness they tried to fill with your presence.

They were not ready for the weight of real love — the responsibility, the vulnerability, the commitment that comes with it. Instead of cherishing you, they fumbled. Instead of building with you, they retreated. Instead of appreciating your efforts, they let their brokenness distort the way they saw you. And still, none of that makes you unworthy. In fact, it’s proof that your love was powerful enough to expose what they lacked within themselves.

You must understand, being “too much” was never the problem. If anything, you were more than enough. You were the safe place they prayed for but didn’t know how to protect. You were the light they stumbled upon while still choosing to walk in darkness. And when someone hasn’t healed, they can’t recognize the blessing standing right in front of them — so they sabotage it, reject it, or let it slip away.

But here’s the truth: love isn’t meant to be begged for, explained, or forced. Love should flow, it should feel safe, it should grow stronger with time. And while they failed to give you that, it doesn’t mean you won’t find it. Their inability to love you deeply only clears the path for someone who can — someone who won’t see your heart as a burden, but as the rare and irreplaceable gift it is.

So hold on to the fact that you are lovable, worthy, and more than capable of being cherished the way you deserve. Their brokenness may have kept them from loving you, but it should never convince you that you were hard to love.

It’s Not Personal—It’s Perception
When you shift your perspective, you realize that most things people say or do are a reflection of their own reality, not yours. Everyone sees the world through the lens of their experiences, fears, and beliefs. Their perception isn’t your truth. Taking things personally clouds your judgment and d
