I used a special heart-shaped pan, but you can also bake a round cake and carefully cut it into a heart shape once it's cooled. For those vibrant rainbow layers, I found that gel food coloring works wonders – you need to divide your batter evenly and color each portion generously to get those distinct hues. When it comes to the 'delicious cake solution,' I truly believe it starts with quality ingredients and not overmixing! My trick for a super moist cake is to always use room temperature ingredients and to measure everything precisely. And for the frosting? I opted for a light brown buttercream, which I flavored with a hint of vanilla bean – it paired wonderfully with the colorful layers without being too overpowering. Spreading it smoothly for that perfect finish is key for a professional look! Now, onto those adorable donut-shaped bun cakes! These were a fun experiment, and they're such a hit. I don't have a donut fryer, so I used a special donut baking pan to get that perfect shape. The secret to their soft texture and golden-brown exterior is not to overfill the molds and to bake them at the right temperature until just golden. Once they cooled, I dipped them in a simple glaze and then went wild with colorful sprinkles! It really makes them pop and instantly adds a festive, playful touch. They're perfect for parties or as a little treat for yourself. Starting my baking business has been a dream, and these first creations are a big step. I'm learning so much about presentation and consistency with every batch. Getting feedback from friends and family helps me refine my recipes and ensure every cake and bun cake is truly 'delicious.'
