Choose wisely 🫶
You don’t realize that you really do get to choose the people that you include in your life. Often times, most are left wondering why they feel so unimportant or left out in others lives. But there has to be a time where you take a step back and reflect on the people you’ve chosen. What do THEIR lives look like? How do they move through their every day? More importantly, how do they treat THEMSELVES? How do they speak about themselves? Do they value their own physical body? Their minds? Their spirit?
It’s very simple… if they haven’t shown up for themselves to be a better version of themselves, then how would you expect them to show up for you in the ways that you feel you deserve? 🤍🤍🤍✨🤍

In my own journey, understanding the importance of choosing people who truly show up for themselves has been a game-changer. It’s not just about surrounding yourself with others, but about ensuring those around you prioritize their own well-being and growth. When someone values their own mind, body, and spirit, they naturally bring a positive energy to the relationship that fosters mutual respect and support. A phrase that resonates deeply with me is: "people can only show up for you as deeply as they’ve shown up for themselves." This means that if we seek genuine support and understanding, we must first recognize how the people we invite into our lives handle their own challenges and self-care practices. For example, friends who meditate, practice self-compassion, or engage in continual self-development tend to be more emotionally available and empathetic. Reflecting on this has helped me set clearer boundaries and prioritize my mental health by choosing to engage with people who align with these values. It’s also encouraged me to work on being that better version of myself, treating my body and mind with kindness and respect, so I can show up authentically for others. This alignment has improved my social interactions and deepened connections, making me realize how much energy we invest in relationships that might not nurture us in return. Ultimately, this approach creates a more balanced and fulfilling social circle. It’s empowering to remember that we do get to choose who we include in our lives, and by choosing wisely, we cultivate environments where mutual growth and respect flourish.
