That’s not a YOU problem, Babe 🤍

Being a true empath is hard. You feel everyone’s emotions. Even when their emotional baggage is weighing them down. But the truth about it is, taking on their emotional baggage will not help them, or you. You have your own things to worry about. They need to work on healing.

Everything that they continue to refuse to heal will only get heavier. It is NOT your job to take on their problems. You aren’t meant to. That’s how we grow in this life. Learn to heal.

... Read moreAs someone who identifies as a true empath, I've often found myself overwhelmed by the emotions of those around me. It's tempting to absorb their pain or stress, thinking it will help them or ease their suffering. However, over time I've realized that this emotional absorption can become a heavy burden, leading to burnout and emotional exhaustion. One important lesson I've learned is that you are not meant to carry others' problems. Each individual must face and work through their own emotional baggage to achieve healing. This can be difficult to accept, especially when you genuinely care about those people, but setting clear emotional boundaries is vital to protect your own well-being. The phrase "you are n meant to what" reminds me daily that my role as an empath is to offer support and guidance—not to fix or carry the weight of someone else’s struggles. Allowing others the space to grow and heal themselves is an act of kindness to both them and yourself. Practicing self-care routines, such as meditation, journaling, or talking with supportive friends, has helped me stay grounded. Additionally, recognizing the difference between empathic guidance and codependency has been crucial. Empathy is a gift when balanced; it becomes a burden when boundaries are blurred. Remember, healing is a personal journey. As empaths, we can encourage growth gently, but the ultimate work of healing must come from within the individual. By embracing these principles, I’ve found a healthier, more sustainable way to live with empathy—one that honors my feelings without taking on unnecessary burdens.
