After my last Italian restaurant review, the comments were flooded with one recommendation:
“You have to try Nodo.”
So we did.
One of the things that stood out to me most was meeting Chef Maurizio, who’s actually from Italy. Between the fresh pasta, house-made gelato, and menu inspired by flavours from across Italy, it felt much closer to the kinds of restaurants I’m used to eating at in Rome.
And according to the toughest critic, the pizza passed the test too… Baby B ate the entire thing by herself 🍕
📍 Nodo – Liberty Village
Now tell me… where should I go for Part 3 of Can Toronto Do Italian? 👇
Visiting Nodo in Liberty Village offers a unique glimpse into authentic Italian dining outside of Italy. One of the most impressive aspects is the dedication to traditional methods, such as making pasta and gelato in-house, which truly elevates the dining experience. As someone who enjoys exploring Italian cuisine, I found Nodo to be a standout for its commitment to quality ingredients and genuine flavors. Chef Maurizio, originally from Italy, brings an unmatched authenticity to the menu, reflecting a blend of regional Italian tastes. This is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey through Italy right in Toronto. What makes Nodo special is how it balances tradition with a touch of local influence — some dishes even have a Toronto-inspired twist without losing the essence of Italian cooking. The atmosphere, highlighted by the terrace and the vibe reminiscent of Italian bars, adds to the overall experience, inviting diners to relax and savor their meals as if they were in Rome. A fun personal note: my family loved the pizzas, especially since the younger members were eager to eat a whole pizza on their own, a true sign of satisfaction! If you're craving Italian food that's more than just the typical fare, Nodo offers an immersive experience with its carefully curated menu, warm hospitality, and authentic Italian ambiance. For those wondering if Toronto can deliver real Italian flavors, Nodo certainly makes a compelling case and is a must-visit on any food lover’s list.
