Ruby Tuesday
First time here. Never knew they could be this good. 9/10
Okay, so I have to share this because I literally just had my first ever experience at Ruby Tuesday, and let me tell you, it was a revelation! I've walked past their doors so many times, never really thinking much of it, but seriously, what have y'all been gatekeeping? I went in with zero expectations, just looking for a decent meal, and came out genuinely impressed – a solid 9/10 experience for me! My main mission was to try something that sounded comforting and flavorful, and oh boy, did I hit the jackpot with their Hickory Bourbon Salmon. Before this, I’d heard bits and pieces, but nothing prepared me for how good it actually was. You know how sometimes restaurant salmon can be a bit dry or bland? Not this one, *mmcht*! This salmon fillet was perfectly cooked, flaky, and incredibly moist throughout. The star, without a doubt, was the hickory bourbon glaze – a fantastic balance of sweet caramel notes and smoky depth, with just a hint of that deep, rich bourbon flavor that never felt overpowering. It wasn't just slapped on top; it felt like the salmon had been marinated, allowing these incredible flavors to really sink into every fiber of the fish. Every single bite was juicy and bursting with that signature sweet-smoky profile. It totally exceeded any expectation I had for a casual dining spot and truly felt like a premium dish. If you’re a salmon lover, you absolutely have to try this. It's easily a standout on their menu. And let's not forget its amazing sidekick: the Ruby Tuesday Rice Pilaf. I'm often skeptical of restaurant rice sides because they can be so forgettable, but this was surprisingly good and truly elevated the meal. It wasn't just plain white rice; it had a lovely, subtle seasoning that complemented the richness of the salmon beautifully without competing with it. The rice was fluffy, perfectly cooked, and had a delicate savory flavor that made it much more interesting than your average side. It seemed to have hints of herbs and perhaps a touch of chicken broth, which gave it a comforting, home-style taste. It also did a fantastic job of soaking up any extra glaze from the salmon, creating an even more harmonious and flavorful bite. Together, the tender, flavorful salmon and the aromatic rice pilaf made for a complete, satisfying, and memorable meal. I seriously felt like I discovered a hidden gem that day! If you're like me and have perhaps overlooked Ruby Tuesday, or maybe haven't been in a while, I honestly highly recommend giving it another shot, specifically for these two dishes. It’s clear they put a lot of thought and effort into these menu items. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was friendly, and the food was just unexpectedly good. I'm already planning my next visit to dive into that Hickory Bourbon Salmon again – perhaps I'll try it with a different side next time, but the rice pilaf is a tough act to follow! Don't let others gatekeep this gem from you any longer. Seriously, go experience it for yourself!
