To make your day at this Brownsville gem even better, here are a few things I learned and would recommend: Best Time to Go: Weekdays are generally less crowded, and arriving right at opening or a couple of hours before closing can offer a more peaceful experience, especially around popular exhibits like the flamingos. You'll likely see the animals more active during these cooler parts of the day. Stay Hydrated: South Texas heat can be intense! Bring reusable water bottles; there are water fountains available. Or, treat yourself to a refreshing drink – it definitely added to the relaxation! Kid-Friendly Fun: Besides the incredible animal encounters, the kids' water park is an absolute must-do, especially on a warm day. It’s a fantastic way for them to cool off and burn off some extra energy. My little ones absolutely loved it! Wear Comfy Shoes: You'll be doing a lot of walking across the beautifully landscaped grounds, so comfortable footwear is a non-negotiable. Check for Shows/Feedings: Before your visit, take a quick look at the zoo's website.
