I didn’t know I would love this place the way I do

✈️ City/Country 1: Mexico City (Centro Historico)

✨ Pros: The architecture is AMAZING and every person we came it contact with was genuinely nice.

We also found the best bar with the best drinks and the BEST view and prices (Terraza Catedral)

👀 Cons: we honestly only explored our side of town and didn’t have enough time to immerse ourselves the way we wanted to.

🗺️ Tips:

‼️Please learn some conversational Spanish words. We came across very few people who were able or willing to speak in straight up English. That is not their responsibility & it’s a respect thing at the end of the day.

‼️ Be sure to confirm which airport you’re flying in from Benito Juarez is close but the other one in Santa Lucia is not and you will travel another hour to get into the city

‼️We love being amongst the locals and do what they do but a hop on hop off bus (that is self directed) is a great way to spend a day or two around town.

Historic center of Mexico City

2024/10/6 Edited to

... Read moreMexico City, renowned for its rich history and dynamic culture, offers travelers a unique experience. The Historic Center, or 'Centro Historico', is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its architectural marvels, including the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral and the historic Palacio de Bellas Artes. For a memorable visit, immerse yourself in the local culture by trying traditional dishes at nearby eateries. Tacos al pastor and churros are must-tries for food lovers. Additionally, don't miss out on exploring the local markets, where you can find everything from unique souvenirs to delicious street food. Language can be a barrier, yet learning a few essential Spanish phrases will enhance your interactions with the locals, who are generally warm and welcoming. Engaging with the community allows you to discover hidden gems away from the tourist path. Travelers should also be aware of transportation options. While Benito Juarez International Airport is the main airport, alternative routes may significantly increase your travel time. A reliable choice for navigating the city is the hop-on-hop-off bus, ideal for maximizing your sightseeing within a limited timeframe. Lastly, if you're seeking the best panoramic views, the Terraza Catedral not only serves exquisite drinks but also offers unmatched views of the city's skyline, making it an excellent spot to relax after a day of exploration. Preparing a comprehensive itinerary will help you seize the vibrant experiences that Mexico City has to offer.
