Eyes don't lie~

The phrase "Eyes don't lie" has always fascinated me because, in many ways, our eyes are the windows to our true feelings. Unlike words, which can be manipulated or concealed, the eyes often reveal underlying emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, or deception. I've noticed in my own experiences that when someone tries to hide their true thoughts, their eyes tend to flicker or avoid direct contact, signaling something isn't quite right. Conversely, when someone is sincere, their gaze feels steady and warm, making it easier to trust their words. This natural honesty of the eyes ties into body language and non-verbal communication, playing a crucial role in human interactions. For example, during conversations, maintaining appropriate eye contact can build rapport and show attentiveness, whereas lack of it might suggest disinterest or dishonesty. From a cultural perspective, while eye contact norms vary, the underlying truth remains that the eyes convey feelings beyond spoken language. Reflecting on this can deepen our understanding of people and improve our communication skills.
