I built my own system

No planner ever worked for me.

I would start with full intention, set everything up, organize it perfectly—and then stop using it.

Not because I lacked discipline.

Not because I didn’t care.

Because every system I tried was built for a different operating pattern.

Here’s what I eventually saw:

I wasn’t struggling with organization.

I was trying to force my complexity into systems that couldn’t hold it.

So the pattern kept repeating:

Start → optimize → abandon → restart.

The cost wasn’t just unfinished plans.

It was losing trust in my own follow-through.

That’s when the shift happened.

Instead of asking,

“Which system should I use?”

I asked,

“What kind of system would actually fit how I think, move, and create?”

That question changed everything.

I stopped trying to fit into existing tools

and started designing something that could carry my way of thinking.

Something flexible enough for depth,

structured enough for execution,

and honest enough to evolve with me.

I went from feeling like I didn’t fit anywhere

to building something that actually fits me.

And now, it’s becoming something others can enter too.

If you’ve been starting over more than you’ve been finishing,

there’s a good chance the issue isn’t you.

It’s the system you’re trying to operate inside.

I’m building an app around this idea—one that reads your pattern and helps you move inside it, instead of against it.

Coming soon.

... Read moreFrom my experience, the key to effective planning lies not in rigid systems but in adaptable frameworks that align with your natural rhythms and thought patterns. I used to cycle through popular planners and apps, each promising efficiency but ultimately ending up abandoned. That personal frustration led me to realize traditional tools are often built on standardized patterns, not accommodating individual mental complexities or workflows. Developing my own system meant embracing flexibility and acknowledging shifts in my productivity phases. For instance, the concepts of "push" and "pull" forces, reflected in my planning stages, helped me identify when to advance a task aggressively or when to hold and reflect. This dynamic approach aligns with natural productivity cycles, mitigating burnout and increasing the likelihood of finishing what I start. Integrating visual cues from my "Compass" and "Nurture Board" allowed me to translate abstract thoughts into actionable moves, categorized by urgency and energy. It was empowering to see my planning process as living, breathing cycles rather than static lists. Technology can support this approach when designed thoughtfully. The upcoming app I am building aims to analyze user patterns, recognizing individual workflows to suggest personalized planning paths instead of forcing standardized templates. Such tools can transform planning from a source of stress to a supportive structure. If you find yourself repeatedly restarting plans or abandoning systems you wish you could trust, consider designing your planning method around how you think and create, rather than forcing yourself into existing solutions. This mindset shift can rebuild your confidence in your ability to follow through and achieve your goals.
