This story is about various deceased people getting on the train of remembrance and going back to the past. Do you have any regrets since your death? Only 12 hours, but 12 hours. I went to redo what I regretted, but the tear glands were loose all the time and the tears did not stop. 琴織ゆきの『天国までの記憶列車』には深いテーマが込められていて、読んでいて自然と自分の後悔や大切な人との思い出を振り返るきっかけになりました。 この物語の特徴は、死者が過去の一場面に戻り再会できるものの、時間はたったの十二時間しかなく、死の運命は変えられないという点です。個人的にはこの制約が物語に切なさとリアリティを与えていて、心に響きました。 また、満月の夜に水辺で車掌帽をかぶった黒猫が列車を見つめている表紙のイラストもとても印象的でした。イラストの静かな雰囲気と物語の静謐がマッチして、ページをめくる手が止まりませんでした。 物語の終盤には、「追憶行」の車掌さんの視点から語られるパートもあり、全体の構成が緻密で飽きさせません。死を伝えることが厳禁というルールは、死者たちの孤独感や葛藤を感じさせて、より感情移入しやすかったです。 作者の琴織ゆきさんの世界観に触れながら、私も大切な人にもう一度会えるとしたら何を伝えたいか、考えずにはいられま せんでした。読書後、心が温かくも切なくなる作品でおすすめです。秋の夜長にぜひ一読してみてください！
