used to hate running but i can run 5km now
Months ago i signed myself up for a 5km women’s run without even trying to run a single bit.
Because of this commitment i decided to jog once a week and this has slowly changed my lifestyle.
Starting was definitely the hardest and persevering throughout the run was even harder. BUT it was just all about the mentality.
This new mindset shaped my perspectives in life and helped me a lot to grow as a person. I even started gymming as well just to become fitter and have a routined exercise.
So if you’re thinking of kickstarting a habit, this can be YOUR SIGN to do something different for yourself today. 💪🏻
Starting to run can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve never run before or even disliked it in the past. From my experience, creating a simple 4-week workout schedule really helped me stay consistent. I began with light jogging once a week, gradually increasing frequency and pace as my stamina improved. One of the biggest challenges is managing time. Realistic obstacles include balancing work or school commitments, weather conditions, and personal motivation dips. Setting small, achievable goals, like jogging for 10 minutes without stopping, helped me develop confidence. If you’re worried about running without stopping, start with alternating walking and jogging. Over time, your cardiovascular system adapts and running 5km without breaks becomes attainable. Wearing comfortable shoes and keeping hydrated at water points also made a big difference for me. Finding a supportive community or signing up for a local women’s run can boost motivation. The energy at these events is truly inspiring—everyone encourages one another, which helps push through tough moments. Plus, adding gym sessions to strengthen muscles was key to becoming fitter and avoiding injuries. Remember, every small win counts. Celebrate reaching each kilometer and keep your goals personal and realistic. With the right mindset and steady progress, running can transform from a dreaded chore into a rewarding lifestyle habit.
