watch me eat and eat in jb - weekend trip vlog
if you don’t know what to do in JB anymore, here are my reviews of some food/massage/shopping places:
1️⃣ Roast & Coffee - Retro Garden 1968’s
✨ Overall kopi is good but quite overrated as the food was so so and also considering that we queued for 20 mins.
2️⃣ Hiap Joo Bakery
✨ Got the all time best seller banana cake!! The texture is v fluffy and overall taste q good just lacking the banana fragrant but overall would still buy again!
3️⃣ Mid Valley SouthKey
✨ All time singaporean favourite mall cus it has everything, even oriental kopi and verrona bread!! But my favourite fashion outlet would still be PADINI — they literally have the most affordable and high quality apparels.
4️⃣ Four Beans Dessert
✨ Serving both hot and cold bean curd, this place offers a variety of toppings and even nice seats to take a break after a shopping haul ~
5️⃣ Borneo Oasis
✨ Got a foot + shoulder massage at RM119 for 90 mins!! I love how the environment is v zen and quiet, plus the therapist are all v skilled too! My 3rd visit here 🫶🏻
6️⃣ Shudaxia Hotpot
✨ This restaurant brought me back to china and it’s giving chengdu vibes cus of the panda. We ordered quite abit based on the ala carte menu and the bill came up to about SGD$15+ for a sunday dinner. The meat is super fresh too! Highly recommend!!
Visiting JB offers so much more than just food — it’s a vibrant experience blending local culture, relaxation, and great shopping. For anyone curious about what to do beyond eating, I highly recommend scheduling a massage at Borneo Oasis in Mount Austin. Their foot and shoulder massage package lasting 90 minutes for RM119 is not only affordable but truly rejuvenating. The serene ambiance and skilled therapists make it a perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring JB’s food scene. Shopping enthusiasts will find Mid Valley SouthKey to be a paradise, especially if you’re looking for trendy yet affordable apparel. I was particularly impressed with Padini; their collection strikes a great balance between quality and price that’s hard to beat. After indulging in some retail therapy, heading to Four Beans Dessert for their hot or cold bean curd is a refreshing way to cool down and recharge. Weekend trips to JB mean many hidden gems to discover. For example, I loved how Shudaxia Hotpot brought authentic Chengdu vibes with fresh meats and rich flavors at very wallet-friendly prices. Combine these experiences with a quick stop at Retro Garden 1968’s for coffee or Hiap Joo Bakery's banana cake, and you’ve got yourself a well-rounded, fun-filled trip. Remember to avoid weekends at some popular bakeries if you want less waiting time, as they can get busy. Also, trying local coffee varieties at different spots helps you appreciate the unique flavors JB offers. Overall, JB is perfect for foodies looking for variety and value, coupled with places to relax and shop comfortably. Can’t wait for my next trip back!
