Body Odor Shower Routine

Smelling good starts with making sure you get rid of any present odor while also preventing any future odor causing bacteria

- Antibacterial Soap: removes sweat, dirt, odor AND odor causing bacteria

- Naturium & Lume: Mandelic Acid is known to stop odor before it starts

- African Net Sponge & Washcloth: something to scrub the skin is a must. I like to use two: A washcloth for base cleanse and the African Net for the second cleanse

- Baby Washcloth: has two sides, one that is a lot softer/smoother and one that’s more textured. I like to use the softer side on my 🐱 and the textured more rougher side on my 🍑 for more of a scrub, ALWAYS pairing it with the Lune Wash

Read moreHaving struggled with persistent body odor myself, I found that the key to truly fresh skin lies not just in washing occasionally but in following a multi-step shower routine focused on both cleaning and prevention. The use of antibacterial soap is essential because it efficiently removes sweat, dirt, and odor-causing bacteria, which are the root of most body odor problems. For me, using a product like Dettol with its germ defense formula made a noticeable difference early on. What really elevated my routine was incorporating Naturium’s acidified body wash containing Mandelic Acid. This ingredient works by gently exfoliating the skin and preventing the growth of odor-causing bacteria before the smell even starts. The pH-optimized formulation for face, body, and private areas makes it a versatile choice. I noticed that my skin tone looked more even and felt cleaner for longer. Another crucial addition is using the right tools for scrubbing. I use two types of cleansing aids: a soft baby washcloth with two textures—using the smooth side on more delicate areas and the rough side for scrubbing tougher spots. Pairing this with the African Net Sponge gives a thorough but gentle second cleanse that removes dead skin cells and sweat residue effectively. This dual-step cleansing prevents buildup that can cause odor without over-drying the skin. Over time, maintaining this shower routine twice daily ensured I felt fresh throughout the day, boosting my confidence, especially during hot or active days. Consistency is key, and combining antibacterial soap, acid-based body wash, and proper exfoliation tools optimizes the fight against body odor. For anyone dealing with stubborn odor, trying this routine might be a game-changer. Remember to complement this with good hygiene habits outside the shower, such as wearing breathable clothing and keeping personal items clean. This approach not only controls existing odor but also helps prevent future odor-causing bacteria from developing, keeping skin naturally fresh and healthy.
