Beginner AI Terms Everyone Pretends to Know
I used to think everyone else understood this stuff except me.
People would casually throw around words like:
• Prompt
• Algorithm
• Automation
• Digital products
• Faceless content
…and I’d smile and pretend I knew what they meant.
The truth?
I was quietly opening Google and searching things like:
“What is a prompt?”
“How does the TikTok algorithm work?”
“What is a digital product?”
“What does faceless content even mean?”
And honestly… I think a lot of women over 40 are doing the exact same thing.
Somewhere along the way, we started believing that if we didn’t understand something immediately, we were behind.
But maybe we ’re not behind at all.
Maybe we’re simply learning a new language.
Our parents didn’t grow up with AI.
Most of us didn’t learn social media in school.
Nobody handed us a dictionary for the digital world.
Yet somehow, we’re expected to already know it.
The good news?
You don’t have to know everything.
You just have to learn one word today.
One skill this week.
One small step at a time.
That’s exactly what I’m doing.
At 53, I’m learning AI, Canva, content creation, and online skills—not because I want to become famous…
…but because I want to understand the world we’re living in and create more opportunities for myself.
If you’ve ever felt embarrassed asking what a “prompt” or an “algorithm” is…
I promise you’re not the only one.
You’re not behind.
You’re learning a new language. 🤍
✨ This is Part 1 of a series where I’ll break down the digital words nobody ever explained to our generation.
🤍 Save this for later if you’re learning one new skill at a time.
📌 Follow along for Part 2.
And tell me in the comments…
Which digital word confused you the most when you first started?
