3 Small Habits That Help Me Survive Night Shift 💫

Okay let’s be honest…

Working night shift isn’t for the weak, but these 3 small habits can make all the difference in keeping your energy & sanity intact:

•Stay Hydrated - I know it’s easy to forget, but dehydration = fatigue. Keep a tumblr near by at all times to sip throughout your shift!

•Lean on Your Work Crew - A solid night shift team makes the night that much bearable. Support each other, laugh through the exhaustion, and get through it together!

•Meal prepping - Saves time, money, and reduces stress. No more scrambling for food before work or settling for unhealthy/boring last minute options at the hospital!

Small changes, big impact. What small habits help you survive night shift as a nurse? Comment below 🩺

... Read moreNavigating the demands of night shift nursing can be challenging, but adopting effective habits can lead to improved energy and mental health. Staying hydrated is crucial; use a reusable water bottle to ensure you're sipping throughout your shift, combatting fatigue. Forming a solid supporting community at work enhances morale and allows for shared experiences, making tough nights more manageable. Meal prepping is another game-changer, eliminating the need to make last-minute food choices and reducing stress about what to eat. Additionally, consider light exercises during breaks to increase circulation and boost alertness. Prioritizing mental health through mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, can also significantly improve focus and resilience. Engaging in open dialogue with co-workers about coping strategies fosters a supportive environment that benefits everyone. Implement these strategies for not just surviving, but thriving in your night shift role!
