China confirms it is talking with the United States about a possible state visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to Beijing as of February 12 2026.
China’s foreign ministry says Xi Jinping has renewed the invitation to Trump and both sides are communicating on timing.
The discussions come as Washington and Beijing aim to extend their current trade truce and pause tariffs for up to a year ahead of a planned April summit in China.
Officials also discuss agricultural purchases, rare earth export rules and easing tensions from past trade fights.
The trade truce has already paused steep U.S. and Chinese tariffs while both sides talk.
Analysts say the move could stabilise the global economy and reshape U.S.–China ties.
