LAST! FIRST! DAY! 📚✏️📓🍎

Hey everyone! You might be wondering, "What exactly is the 'last first day'?" Well, it's a phrase that hits different when you're living it. For me, as a proud 2025 Graduate, it signifies the very beginning of the end of my high school journey. It's not just another "first day of school"; it's the final one. It marks the start of senior year, that pivotal time when you're balancing the excitement of what's next with the bittersweet realization that these familiar hallways and faces won't be part of your daily routine much longer. The emotions on this particular "FIRST DAY" are truly a mixed bag. One moment, I'm buzzing with excitement, ready to tackle new challenges, college applications, and all the senior-year traditions. The next, a wave of nostalgia washes over me, thinking about all the memories made since freshman year. There's a bittersweet sadness knowing that I'm saying "goodbye" to a significant chapter of my life, even as I eagerly anticipate the next. It’s a feeling of being on the precipice – one foot in the past, cherishing the friendships and experiences, and the other stepping boldly into the future. For my fellow seniors, my biggest piece of advice is to really lean in to this year. Don't let the stress of college applications or future plans overshadow the incredible moments happening right now. Go to every football game, cheer on our "Rams" (if that's your school mascot, or whatever your team is!), participate in spirit weeks, and make memories with your friends. This is your last chance to experience high school as a student, so make it count. Try that club you always wanted to join, or step out of your comfort zone. These are the moments you'll look back on and cherish forever. And for those of you just starting high school or still in your underclassman years, please, please take my advice: cherish every single moment. High school really does fly by faster than you can imagine. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Go to school events, make new friends, try new classes, and explore your passions. If you ever feel overwhelmed or lost, remember there are always teachers, counselors, and friends who can support you. These years are formative, shaping who you're becoming, so make the most of them. Don't wait until your "last first day" to realize how precious these times are. As I look ahead, I'm filled with both apprehension and immense excitement for what the future holds. This "last first day of high school" is a significant milestone, a final hurrah before embarking on a new adventure.
