Mom edition 💋
Hey yall, those of you that may not know, I am a mother to two big kids! My oldest daughter is 11 and my son is 9.
What’s hard about being a mom right now is knowing I have a lot of pressure on my plate and a lot to prove to myself and my kids! Having most of the responsibility due to unwelcoming circumstances can be difficult at times! Being a mom can be overstimulating and pressure especially when your mind keeps going a mile a minute when you do the slightest things! I’m learning this year to give grace and compliment myself in terms of parents more often ✨🥰 #GirlTalk #lemon8challenge #momlife #girltalkvibes #youngmommy
Being a mother today means juggling numerous responsibilities while managing the emotional and mental load of parenthood. With children growing, the role often expands, presenting new challenges and opportunities. Mothers are increasingly feeling the pressures of societal expectations, leading to feelings of overwhelm and stress. It’s essential to find supportive communities, whether online or in-person, where shared experiences make the journey lighter. Practicing self-compassion is vital. Instead of criticizing yourself for perceived shortcomings, focus on the joys of motherhood and celebrate small victories. Networking with fellow moms can alleviate feelings of isolation. Explore resources like parenting groups on social media, or local playgroups where you can connect with others going through similar experiences. Additionally, time management strategies can greatly help in reducing stress. Prioritizing tasks, setting realistic goals, and learning to ask for help when needed can foster a healthier family dynamic. Sharing the load with partners or older children teaches responsibility and teamwork. Embracing flexibility allows mothers to adapt to each family member's needs, making motherhood a shared venture rather than a solo endeavor. Finally, remember the importance of self-care. This can be as simple as carving out time for hobbies, exercise, or even indulging in a good book. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s necessary for staying rejuvenated and capable of caring for your family.
