Barely grazed the rim 😭#fyp
Trying to dunk for the first time is a mix of excitement and frustration. Many beginners experience the feeling of just barely grazing the rim—close enough to know it's possible, yet frustratingly out of reach. It's common to feel hesitant or even scared of the rim, which can affect your jump and confidence. From my own experience, dribbling feels awkward at first, almost like you're protecting the ball with all your might instead of moving fluidly. The fear of missing the dunk causes many to jump lower or lose focus. However, repeated practice builds not only physical strength but also mental toughness. Embracing those near-misses is part of the journey. Each time you come close, you learn something new about timing, footwork, or body control. Watching other players who once struggled the same way reminds you that improvement takes patience and persistence. If you’re starting to dunk, focus on strengthening your legs and improving your vertical leap, but also don’t underestimate the power of confidence and positive mindset. Celebrate the small wins, like touching the rim, as important milestones on your path to dunking success.
